I havent done the reading yet so i cant comment on the reading. The chapters for our mid term were very interesting it wouldve been nice to have more time to learn more. Its amazing how the media has influenced our lives.

The internet is very useful, there is google which allows you to browse about anything and i mean anything. You certainly can google yourself and information you need for school or just anything you can think of. There is also Facebook which is a social networking site so you can keepin touch with friends. Its a fast anmd easy way to get in touch with friends even classmates start a conversation. I believe google is a concenience rather than a set back because when you need to do homework and work later the internet is a fast a resourceful way to finding what you need. In this case the library would waste time finding what you need and read through all those unnecassary pages.

5/1/11 blogging/ journalism

I dont know much about journalism so ill stick with blogging. I think that blogging is a way for people to express themselves give their opinions and knowledge about a certain subject. So, i think that blogging isnt reliable or credible because its mostly opinion. Blogging gives people from anywhere the chance to have a discussion about what is important to all of us.

Technology

I believe technology is a positive thing, it is a usefull tool for students especially those who come from poor neighborhoods and schools because the internet is full of resources. Social networks like facebook help us stay connected with people, it is a great way to keep in touch with friends where ever you may be at any time. Facebook, myspace and other websites are defrinitely a great way to keep in touch with friends who have moved away because it is faster to communicate. We are able to share ideas and raise concerns with anybody in the world. We hear and see different perspectives and views allowing us to be informed about things that are important to all of us.

reflection on public education

Being a College student is very expensive but i think it is important that i finish College. People have their own opinions about the education system we have. I have friends who were accepted to Universitys but were unable to attend because of the high cost. Because of this people decide not to continue with their education and it is unfortunate to see that happen. I am glad to be enrolled in school and continuing with my education.

Virginia

Hello everyone! My name is Virginia i am enrolled in English 110 this quarter. In Class we all shared what we wanted to major in. My current major is Psychology but of course my plans may change. I've always felt the need to help others, motivate people and even inspire them. I always thought that psychology was the way to go but as i go along i find new career paths i can follow.  From English 110 i want to be able to set goals for myself and improve my writing skills. Being able to discuss ideas with most if not all my classmates will certainly help me be open to other ideas/ points of view. Blogging will help me communicate with my classmates which is very important in order to be aware of other people' s ideas and aspirations. I am looking forward to this class and new ideas.
